The M-Winger PRO 105L and the Downwinder S-TEC 130L are clearly built with performance and early lift in mind, but they approach it from slightly different angles, one coming from the wingfoil world, the other from pure downwind SUP DNA. The Downwind S-TEC is lighter than expected for a 130L around 5.9kg thanks to the full carbon sandwich layup. You feel it especially when paddling or carrying it under the arm. The M-Winger also comes in JP’s premium construction, with great deck pad grip, multiple footstrap options, and a clean, stiff feel that reacts instantly when pumping or shifting weight. Both boards feature updated foil tracks with mirrored placement scales, making setup easy and fast
The M-Winger is more compact, designed to bridge the gap between a traditional wing board and a downwind SUP. It’s 6’8 x 22” and built for efficient pumping and early take-off, while still letting you throw the board around. The Downwind, on the other hand, is a dedicated SUP DW machine with 8’2 x 19.5” with a featherweight construction, and a glide that seems endless when you're chasing micro-swells. Both boards are incredibly efficient when it comes to getting up on foil, but in different ways.
The Downwind is just ridiculous in flatwater or low-energy bumps! With that length and flat rocker, it glides forever. Even on soft rollers, two or three strokes and you’re flying, super linear and super stable. Perfect for true open ocean downwinders. The M-Winger feels a bit more technical at first, but once you're moving, it actually lifts off surprisingly early especially for a board that compact. It pumps really efficiently and reacts faster underfoot.
The M-Winger clearly wins in terms of tight, responsive carving. The tail design and compact outline let you push through turns and link carves like you’re on a surf foil board. It’s fun, fast, and feels alive under your feet. The Downwind, while slightly less agile, offers a different kind of control – it's more about flow and line drawing. It’s perfect for those long, drawn-out turns where you’re following swell lines and managing energy over distance rather than snapping through turns.
These two boards make an epic combo: The Downwind S-TEC for paddling up and chasing lines, and the M-Winger PRO for lightwind wing sessions and tighter freeride foiling. But if you’re looking for a board that gives you glide for days, stable paddling, and early lift in open ocean or flatwater, the Downwind S-TEC is a weapon. It's built for connecting bumps, or ultra-low-wind days when you're chasing every ounce of energy from the water. And if you want something more compact, playful, and tuned for winging especially in marginal conditions, the M-Winger PRO is a killer option. It still has great glide and lift, but adds tighter handling and more fun when you’re already flying.
