Eleveight GT4+

If there is one thing Eleveight consistently excels at, it’s presenting its products. Regardless of the price range, every product feels premium from the moment you open the box, and the latest GT4+ is no exception. We’ve had the 4m version on test for the past couple of months, although the range is available in sizes from 3m to 6m.

Everything about this wing exudes quality, from the bag to the materials used and even the leash. Build quality has always been one of our favorite aspects of Eleveight products, and the GT4+ continues that tradition. As part of the brand’s “+” range, it features Eleveight’s lightest, stiffest and most premium materials. The frame is built using XTC TEX 2.0, a lighter, stiffer and stronger Dacron than industry standards, allowing for a thinner leading edge without compromising rigidity. The canopy has always been one of our favorite features of Eleveight gear, and the GT4+ uses an impressive 4×4 ripstop fabric that gives the wing a remarkably crisp and durable feel. The trailing edge and reinforcements are made from an even tougher 6×6 ripstop material, further increasing durability in the areas that take the most abuse. For inflation, the GT4+ uses what has become the industry standard: a SUP-style valve with a one-pump system that inflates both the leading edge and strut simultaneously. The wing is fitted with a full carbon boom which, as we discovered during our test, is exceptionally comfortable in the hands and perfectly sized.

We have spent plenty of sessions on the GT4+, and one thing became apparent from the very first ride: its incredibly friendly nature. This is a very powerful wing with excellent low-end performance, yet it also remains composed when the wind picks up. More importantly, it delivers the same feeling on the boom throughout its entire wind range. Unlike many wings that completely change their character as the wind increases, the GT4+ keeps the same personality no matter how much wind you throw at it. It always feels easy, compact, agile and predictable. Staying on the topic of user-friendliness, one detail we particularly appreciated was the length of the carbon boom. It is perfectly matched to the size of the wing. What do we mean by that? As soon as we moved our back hand to the very end of the boom, we found maximum power, without the wing wanting to back stall as often happens with other wings. It makes the wing extremely intuitive to use, especially for beginners or riders still progressing through the early stages of wingfoiling.
For freeriding, the GT4+ is simply a joy. It delivers instant power, excellent low-end performance and feels incredibly agile during tacks, gybes and other transitions, all while generating very little drag. It is one of those wings that quickly disappears from your mind, allowing you to focus entirely on the ride.

We were also lucky enough to score a few proper wave sessions, and those are the conditions where we felt the GT4+ really came alive. Thanks to its light weight and compact shape, it drifted effortlessly when flagged out, even in lighter winds where good drift becomes much more demanding. Positioning the wing is effortless, and once you’re on the wave, it almost feels like it isn’t there, letting you concentrate entirely on your line. Linking waves or connecting long sections of swell felt incredibly natural, with power instantly available whenever we needed it. On the freestyle front, it’s sharp and nimble and the GT4+ continues to impress, making rotations feel easy and never getting in the way. Lift and hangtime are also surprisingly good, giving plenty of time to complete maneuvers. While the most advanced freestyle riders chasing maximum performance may eventually look for something more specialized, the GT4+ has more than enough performance for the vast majority of riders and will comfortably handle everything from the first tricks to advanced freestyle sessions.

Who is the GT4+ for then? Quite simply, just about everyone. It is one of those wings that feels equally at home beneath a beginner as it does in the hands of an experienced rider. Beginners will appreciate its forgiving nature, excellent wind range and impressive upwind ability, making progression easier and more enjoyable from day one. Intermediate riders will love its balanced feel, minimal drag, outstanding comfort and effortless drift across a wide variety of conditions. And for advanced riders, especially those who enjoy riding waves, the GT4+ offers the predictable handling, responsiveness, power and performance needed to push their riding with confidence. Its biggest strength is its versatility. Rather than excelling in just one discipline, the GT4+ delivers a well-balanced package that feels intuitive, reliable and fun, regardless of where you are on your wing foiling journey.
