North Foils introduce the Rover Parawing

North introduce the NEW Rover Parawing. Let's take a look at all the details….

North is proud to introduce the Rover Parawing, a high-performance freeride design engineered to take riders further, upwind, downwind, and back again, with unmatched efficiency and control.

Designed for riders who want more than just a downwind drift, the Rover redefines what’s possible with parawinging. With its powerful upwind drive, expansive wind range, and intuitive control, the Rover allows you to get where you want to go, not just where the wind takes you.

The Rover’s innovative defined profile structure enhances traction, stability, and forward drive, enabling riders to sail closer to the wind and make meaningful upwind progress. Once there, its fast response and smooth power delivery let you chase waves and carve freely, before repeating the run, all in a single session.

Built with a lightweight, durable hybrid canopy and precision bridle system, the Rover delivers a natural, connected feel in your hands. Its vertical control bar provides intuitive power control, while the ability to fly the wing in a semi-depowered state offers smooth, stable handling across a wide wind range.

“The Rover Parawing really shines in any condition, from light winds to crazy strong”, says North Team Rider Marley Franco.

KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF THE ROVER

  • Effortless Upwind PerformanceA defined profile structure with inter-ribs, flexible battens, and a partial twinskin design optimises the airfoil shape under load, delivering enhanced traction, lift, and stability for efficient forward drive.
  • Expansive Wind RangeThe Rover’s aerodynamic high aspect ratio and hybrid canopy construction enable consistent performance across a wide range of conditions, from light winds to powered sessions.
  • Intuitive Power ControlA vertical control bar allows riders to easily adjust angle of attack, offering direct, responsive control and smooth depower when needed.
  • Fast, Direct ResponseA precision bridle system distributes load evenly for stability while maintaining short, manageable line lengths for quick response and easy retrieval.
  • Instant Depower and Safe Handling – The integrated Depower Tab and front-line slider ring allow for immediate power reduction and simplified wing collapse, while protecting hands during operation.
  • Lightweight Hybrid Performance CanopyA combination of lightweight 32gsm material in the leading section and more durable 40gsm material in the trailing edge ensures optimal balance between performance, shape retention, and longevity.
  • Ride Longer with Less FatigueThe included single-point Harness Loop reduces arm strain during extended sessions and folds flat for streamlined packdown.
  • Simple Packdown and StorageDesigned for ease of use on the water, the Rover packs down quickly into its supplied on-water backpack or optional stash belt, so you’re always ready for the next run.
