Armstrong Foils x FSRL 2026 Tour Announcement

Armstrong Foils is partnering with the Foil Surf Race League for the 2026 season!

Armstrong Foils is proud to partner with the Foil Surf Race League for the 2026 season, a three- stop series across the USA pushing the progression of competitive foiling. By combining race and freestyle disciplines, riders show the full spectrum of the sport. It’s competitive, community driven and we’re stoked to be a part of it. FSRL was founded in 2020 by Brian Grubb and Billy Bosch, and what began as a surf race format event, no judges, just fastest through the course, has recently evolved to include formats that can run in any conditions.

From 20 riders in its first year to 90 competitors in 2025, FSRL continues to expand its categories. With over $10,000 in prize money and the opportunity to demo the latest Armstrong gear the event is set to attract both pro riders and community competitors.

Formats for all levels include:

Surf Race

A high energy foil surfing endurance race with a “Lemans” beach start. Riders paddle into waves, cross the upstream boundary, work down the beach riding or pumping to a downstream marker, then return to complete a lap. First to finish the set laps and cross the beach line wins.

Expressions Session

The Expression Session features straps, strapless and foil assist categories. Riders receive unlimited Jet Ski whips and can paddle into waves at any time during the heat. A three judge panel scores progressive and innovative foil maneuvers.

• Strapped Riders will be judged on “Best Trick”.
• Strapless Riders will be judge on “Best Wave”.
• Foil Assist Riders will be judge on “Best Wave”

Wake Freestyle

The FSRL Wake Foil format is designed for riders to showcase their best foil maneuvers on the wake behind the boat. Riders are given two passes to perform their tricks and will be scored by a panel of 3 judges. Judging is subjective and riders will be awarded for creativity, difficulty, execution and style.

1v1 Pump Race

The FSRL 1v1 format is a PWC assisted foil race that can take place in the ocean or fresh water. It puts two riders head-to-head against each other. Riders complete the
course by pumping their foils and first to cross the finish line wins.
