Dispatches: Balearic PWR

Turning what was essentially a work trip into a voyage of discovery is exactly what we’d expect from the ever-creative PWR-Foil crew, who set about finding some of Mallorca’s most stunning settings for some near-transcendental eFoil action…

The island of Majorca is full of places like this where the water is so clear that you sometimes have trouble judging the height of the foil on the water.

The Zephyr in crystal-clear water, worthy of the most beautiful lagoons on the planet

For the 2026 Palma International Boat Show, the PWR-Foil team embarked on a journey that was both logistical and athletic, turning the trip into a true expedition to discover the island’s most beautiful beaches. The starting point was Canet-en-Roussillon, on the French Mediterranean coast, with a truck loaded with equipment and one clear goal: to reach Palma de Mallorca to showcase and ride the brand’s eFoils in one of the most inspiring settings in the Mediterranean.

The first leg of the journey was by road to Barcelona, before boarding a quick three-hour ferry ride to Palma de Mallorca. The truck accompanies the ferry, ensuring the logistical continuity of this hybrid journey that blends product demonstration and exploration. Upon arrival on the island, the landscape sets the pace. With rugged terrain, winding roads, and intense Mediterranean light, the Balearic Islands immediately offer a true eFoil playground.

The team continued scouting spots, exploring some of the island’s most spectacular beaches. The variety of surfing areas is remarkable, with a range of conditions and landscapes that change dramatically over just a few kilometers. As the team headed northward, an unexpected detour left a lasting impression. At the end of a mountain road, at an altitude of nearly 600 meters, an isolated lake came into view. The contrast is striking. Far from the coast, in almost total silence, the riders launched their eFoils into the water amidst a stark, otherworldly landscape. This unique session offered a moment of absolute disconnection, almost surreal, where riding took on a contemplative dimension.

Whether among ruins or on a beach, the PWR-Foil team put on a real show on the water.

After two hours of driving through the mountains, the island of Majorca offered the team a landscape worthy of Jurassic Park, with magnificent cliffs and a few sailboats.

The extreme trail

The day took a different turn, becoming more challenging on a steep road well-known to cyclists from all over the world. With its sharp turns, constant elevation changes, and spectacular views, the ride to the final destination was an experience in itself. Then, at the end of the journey, the reward awaited us: perfectly clear water, an almost tropical blue lagoon, in a pristine environment worthy of Jurassic Park! Under these conditions, there was no hesitation. The urge to ride came naturally. The PWR-Foil eFoils were launched without delay, driven by a simple truth: gliding is the direct extension of the place. The sessions flow one after another in crystal-clear water, pure sensations, free from the constraints of wind or swell. The riders fully enjoyed the freedom offered by the eFoils.

Between the boat show and the sessions that follow one another, the team treats themselves to a sightseeing tour of old Palma.

Departure from the offices in Canet-en-Roussillon, heading to the Palma de Mallorca trade show and a week of riding on the island’s most beautiful beaches.

Thanks to the fast boat, it only takes three hours to reach Palma with the truck from Barcelona.

Searching for the spot

For a full week, the PWR-Foil team turned the island into a true exploration ground, chasing down the best spots with crystal-clear waters. Each day, the crew adjusted their route according to natural variables, wind direction, swell period, cove exposure, and above all, the quality of the seabed. Mallorca reveals a rare diversity, shifting from wind-driven, unsettled seas to fully sheltered zones where the water becomes translucent, almost unreal, echoing the clarity of tropical lagoons. In this setting, the French riders didn’t just cruise, they put on a show. On some of the island’s busiest beaches, eFoil sessions quickly drew attention, transforming simple rides into spontaneous performances in front of tourists, amazed by the speed and agility of the machines. The pursuit of the perfect spot became the driving force behind every move, day after day. And the eFoil just added an extra dimension: total freedom from the constraints of wind and swell.

And as with any true search, the reward comes at just the right moment. On the final day, just before boarding the boat back to France, one last spot delivered the long-awaited wave conditions, giving the team a final session, intense and memorable, like a perfectly executed closing chapter.
