AFS have launched a marketplace for second hand gear

Second hand gear is important in our industry as it gives our first-timers their first crack! AFS have recently launched their “Second-Hand Marketplace” – let's take a look.

AFS opens its second-hand marketplace to riders and resellers.
AFS, the French carbon foil manufacturer, has opened a platform dedicated to second-hand AFS gear. Private owners and resellers can list their equipment there free of charge, at https://afs-foiling.com/second-hand.
An AFS foil outlasts the programme its owner bought it for. You move from wing to downwind, you change wing size, you sell the old setup. Until now that resale happened on general classifieds sites or in Facebook groups, where the buyer could not always tell what was being offered.
AFS Marketplace only carries gear made by the brand. Three kinds of sellers coexist, each identified on the listing: AFS, for demo equipment and trade-ins; AFS Private, for owners selling their own gear; and AFS Reseller, for the Advanced Store network. Every listing is reviewed by the AFS team before it goes live, and a rejection comes with a reason. That review covers the listing itself, that the gear really is AFS, that the information is complete and the photos usable.
Listing is done online, with photos, condition, price and handover method. Buyer and seller talk through built-in messaging, so contact details stay private. A listing stays up for 60 days and renews in one click. Search can be filtered by condition, seller type, handover method and location.
How the purchase works depends on the seller. A listing with the AFS badge is bought on the site, cart and AFS invoice, with the legal guarantee that applies to second-hand goods. On an AFS Reseller listing, the sale is concluded with the reseller, under their own terms. On an AFS Private listing, AFS puts the two parties in touch and takes no part in payment or shipping: buyer and seller settle directly, with no commission and no transaction guarantee.
A carbon foil built in Pencran outlives its first owner by some margin. Giving it a second life is less a matter of stated commitment than of plain consistency: gear that resells well is gear that was well made in the first place.

The marketplace is available in three languages:
