INTRODUCTION
Wingfoil Dakhla embraced wingfoiling from its earliest days and founded Dakhla’s first dedicated wingfoil school, developing an effective teaching method that helps every rider progress quickly, safely and confidently. Today, Wingfoil Dakhla is a professional wingfoiling and kitesurfing school operating mainly on the northern side of Dakhla Lagoon, where flat water and reliable wind provide excellent learning conditions. They offer personalized private and semi-private coaching for every level, using the latest high-quality equipment, radio helmets for direct communication, and a dedicated safety boat.
They offer two flexible options. If you book your hotel independently, you can reserve lessons only, with transfers between your hotel and the spot included. For a stress-free trip, choose a complete package combining lessons, accommodation with their trusted hotel partners, meals, airport transfers, and organization. From arrival to departure, their team handles every detail, leaving you free to ride, relax, and enjoy the lagoon. Beyond lessons, they organize downwinders to iconic locations such as Speed Spot, White Dune, and the City Centre, allowing you to explore different landscapes and riding conditions. They also rent high-quality wingfoil and kitesurf equipment, so experienced riders can enjoy Dakhla independently.

CONDITIONS & SETUP
The wind is predominantly N/NE trades which are cross to side-shore at the north-lagoon spot. In December and January it turns easterly due to the warm Chergui off the Sahara. It averages 15-25 knots in winter (November-March) and 20-30+ knots in summer (June- September). The water is flat in the main lagoon, with some chop in strong wind. There is a small tidal range and you launch straight from the beach. Waves are also available at nearby spots in the open Atlantic for advanced riders.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Dakhla is windy on most days of the year – near 330 – so no single month stands out. Winter suits most travellers: the wind stays manageable and ideal for learning, skies remain clear, and rain is almost unknown in this desert. Days reach the low-to-mid 20s, nights the mid-teens, and the resort is calmer than in high season. The water sits near 18°C, so a wetsuit is essential. Those seeking stronger wind prefer June to September, when crowds and prices rise.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES
When the wind eases, the adventure continues. They offer tow-foiling sessions behind their boat – an ideal way to improve your technique or simply enjoy the unique sensation of flying above the water. You can also explore the White Dune by 4×4, climb to the top for panoramic views of the lagoon and its flamingo colonies, then unwind in the warm, sulphur-rich waters of the 38°C Asmaa spring. Take a boat trip to Dragon Island for the chance to spot dolphins and seabirds, discover local textiles and traditional tea at Dakhla’s souk, or visit the oyster farms for a fresh tasting straight from the lagoon. Dakhla rewards those who explore.
Fly to Dakhla Airport (VIL), usually via Casablanca on Royal Air Maroc. A free return transfer is included with stay packages.
All equipment is provided and matched to your level: F-ONE wings, Duotone kites, and a full range of boards, foils and harnesses.
A 4/3mm for winter; a 3/2mm will suffice in the warmer months.
