At the southernmost tip of Rhodes lies Prasonisi – a wind-powered playground where flatwater speed runs meet rolling wave sessions. Home to Procenter C. Kirschner, this iconic spot combines one of Europe’s most reliable wind systems with a unique sandbar that splits the coastline into two distinct riding arenas. Whether you’re taking your first flights on a wingfoil or pushing the limits of performance foiling, Procenter delivers world-class equipment, expert coaching, and the kind of wind-driven energy that keeps riders coming back year after year.
THE LOWDOWN
Procenter C. Kirschner is located in Prasonisi, at the southern tip of Rhodes – a true paradise for wingfoilers and windsurfers. The center features a comprehensive selection of the latest high-tech windsurfing and wingfoiling equipment from JP Australia and NeilPryde. Prasonisi is renowned for having some of the most reliable winds in Europe. Its name comes from the small offshore island that connects to the mainland by a narrow sandbar. This unique geography funnels the northwesterly Meltemi, giving the spot a powerful local wind boost and making it consistently stronger than anywhere else on the island. The sandbar divides the coastline into two distinct bays, creating Prasonisi’s signature setup: one side with perfectly flat water, the other with rolling waves. This natural combination makes it a standout destination for riders of every style. The Procenter is located on the flatwater side of the bay, just a short walk from the sea.
No matter where you are on your wingfoiling journey, Procenter C Kirschner has you covered. The center offers a full selection of prolevel equipment suited to every rider, from complete beginners to advanced foilers. A team of experienced instructors is on hand to support your progression, providing highquality coaching enhanced by modern tools such as video analysis, drone footage, and GoPro recordings. If you’re an advanced rider looking to take your skills even further, don’t miss the JP/NeilPryde Wing Camp in September 2026. Hosted for the fourth time by Procenter Prasonisi, the camp brings together top pro riders — including Vinnicius Martins, Kylie Belloeuvre, and Riccardo Zorzi — who will coach you on the water and help elevate your performance to the next level.
FOILING SETUP
The Meltemi blows in from the northwest, creating different conditions on each side of the sandbar. On the right is the wave beach, where the wind is crossonshore and the swell forms beautifully after a few days of strong wind. It can deliver waves from waist to masthigh, ideal for riders looking for pumpandjump conditions.
On the left lies the flatwater beach. The crossoffshore wind keeps the surface flat even in strong conditions, making it perfect for speed lovers and anyone looking to progress. This bay also remains welcoming for beginners thanks to its long, sandy beach and easy access to the flat water. It’s usually windy throughout the day, with powerful sunset sessions between 17:00 and 19:00.
WHEN IS BEST TO GO?
The season runs from May to the end of October. The Meltemi is most reliable from June to September, delivering stable conditions that average around force 5–6 Beaufort. While May can still be a bit chilly, late September and October offer a special charm: warm water, clear light, and wideopen space on the sea, where the sun sets the surface sparkling as you ride. In case the wind is low, Procenter provides a selection of lightwind wingfoil gear, ensuring easy takeoffs and more time flying even in marginal conditions.
NO WIND?
Prasonisi is all about beach, wind and pure chill — the perfect escape from busy life. During Meltemi season, windless days are rare, but if one does appear, it’s the ideal moment to relax on the rooftop terrace, join a group session, or chat with the team and fellow riders about new maneuvers.
If you’re in the mood to explore, grab a car and discover the island. The west coast offers hidden beaches and unforgettable sunsets, while a 45minute drive to the east brings you to Lindos, known for its dramatic clifftop acropolis and inviting rooftop restaurants and bars.
Fly into Rhodos Diagoras Airport (RHO) which is 90km away from Prasonisi. The best way is to rent a car, or pre-book a taxi transfer.
Wing sizes between 3.5-5m, an 85cm mast with an 800-1000 cm2 front wing. Board size from 65-80l.
May can be chilly so bring a 3/2 full suit. From June to end of September lycras, bikinis and boardshorts will work. In October a 2mm shorty is recommended.
