FOILING SETUP
Conditions are exceptional year-round: consistent wind, glassy water, and plenty of space make it ideal for beginners learning their first flights as well as advanced riders practicing jibes, tacks and freestyle tricks. The spot remains uncrowded, ensuring freedom to ride and a relaxed atmosphere on the water.

WHEN IS BEST TO GO?
Dakhla is a year-round wingfoil destination, but the best time to visit La Crique depends on what you’re looking for. From March to October, the wind is strongest and most consistent, offering ideal conditions for progression and long daily sessions. November to February brings slightly lighter winds but still plenty of rideable days, with fewer people on the water and a more tranquil atmosphere. Thanks to its sheltered flat-water zone, La Crique remains a reliable spot in every season, making it perfect for riders seeking both performance and comfort at any time of the year.
NO WIND?
On no-wind days, visitors at La Crique have plenty to enjoy. The hotel offers two beautiful pools, a tranquil spa, gym and a high quality restaurant overlooking the lagoon called L’Ancre des Gourmets, perfect for unwinding and recharging. Guests can also explore SUP, yoga sessions, horse and camel riding or quads. For those interested in local culture, trips to Dakhla’s town, Dragon Island by boat or the White Dune can be arranged. Whether you prefer relaxation or light adventure, La Crique ensures that your stay remains enjoyable even when conditions aren’t suitable for foiling.
Fly into Dakhla Airport (VIL). La Crique provides private transfers, ensuring a smooth and comfortable arrival straight to the hotel.
A mid-aspect wingfoil setup works best in Dakhla: 4-5m wings, a 900-1200cm² front wing, and a medium-length mast. Riders expecting lighter wind days may also bring a larger 6m wing.
A 4/3 or 3/2 mm wetsuit is ideal for most of the year. In summer, many riders are comfortable in a shorty.
