INTRODUCTION
Flight Club is the Club Vass dedicated wingfoil center based at the world-renowned water sports destination of Vassiliki on the Ionian Island of Lefkada, Greece. A phenomenal local wind effect makes Vassiliki a unique foiling hotspot, starting gently and onshore in the morning, then switching to a strengthening cross-shore around early afternoon. It suits everyone from complete beginners and first-time flyers to experienced riders perfecting advanced maneuvers. Flight Club has some serious heritage behind it, drawing on almost 40 years of Club Vass expertise and experience to ensure every element of your wingfoil holiday goes smoothly. WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT
Flight Club has an unrivalled waterfront position, just upwind of the mother ship, Club Vass, with direct sea access via a dedicated decked launch and landing area. The setup is uniquely slick and hassle-free, with a huge choice of brand-new Duotone kit racked and ready at the beachside centre. Rescue boats provide safety and on-water tuition support. Video analysis and headsets are used effectively, and private 1-to-1 coaching is also available for all levels. For 2027, small-group weekly clinics for beginners, improvers and intermediates will run Monday-Friday throughout the summer, excluding July. The accomplished and inspiring Flight Club team are always on hand to help, sharing their passion for wingfoiling and playing a big part in what makes the Club Vass experience so special. The legendary Club Vass vibe sets this place apart! The center, with its distinctive approach and exceptional facilities, is the hub of the beach, and guests return year after year. Windsurfing and wingfoiling are the focus, but the appeal goes beyond the sport – there’s a genuine sense of community here that’s hard to beat.
CONDITIONS
This flat-water playground is ideal for progression, with the building wind creating great ramps for aerials later in the day. The afternoon wind blows cross-shore from the NNW at around 15-20 knots or more. There is no tide to worry about.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Flight Club runs from mid-May to early October. The wind here is generated by a highly localized thermal effect: in summer, the prevailing northwesterly is accelerated down the mountain adjoining the bay. It blows most reliably from mid-June through August, although May and September are still warm and windy, with fewer crowds in the bay and village. The water is blissfully warm throughout the season (naturally fresher in the low season), and always that crystal-clear Ionian blue.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES
You will be spoiled for choice here and you can be as active or as chilled as you like. Club Vass offers mountain biking (guided or solo), SUPs (including SUP yoga), and yoga, Pilates and massage in the Zen Zone overlooking the bay. Associates Nautilus offer snorkeling, scuba diving and RIB safaris. Kids’ Club and ProKids Windsurfing keep younger guests active while encouraging a lifelong passion for water sports – there’s more dedicated kids’ kit than most centres have in total! Lefkada is well worth exploring and also provides easy access to neighboring islands Ithaca, Kefalonia and Meganissi.
Preveza Airport is one hour away, with direct flights from major European airports. Club Vass offers a Gatwick charter with its UK Pack (flights, transfers, accommodation, kit rental and tuition, MTBs, SUPs & kids’ clubs).
There is no need to bring gear! Flight Club has brand-new 2027 Duotone kit for all levels, plus helmets and impact vests. Private storage is not available.
Boardshorts/bikinis are usually sufficient, with sun protection recommended. Rash vests and accessories are available in the Club Vass shop. Some prefer a shorty in the low season.
Club Vass serves breakfast and lunch overlooking the bay, with favourites including açaí bowls, breakfast bagels, soul bowls and the legendary Club Vass burger. Village restaurants are a short walk away.
Club Vass Beach Bar is the après-surf hub, with drinks, Tuesday Pizza Night and Friday BBQs, plus DJs and dancing. Vassiliki harbor has plenty of tavernas and bars.
