North launches new High-Speed Performance Freeride Wing

North Launches Mode Pro: High-Speed Performance Freeride Wing for max boost & control… introducing the Mode Pro 2026.

North proudly unveils the Mode Pro 2026 High-Speed Performance Freeride wing, engineered for explosive power, top-end speed, and uncompromised control. The Mode Pro delivers industry-leading responsiveness and wind range. With its cutting-edge N-Weave45 airframe, aggressive profile, and efficient power delivery, it is the choice for heavier/stronger riders and those demanding total dominance in gusty, overpowered conditions.

“The Mode Pro sets the standard for stiffness, direct feel, and high-speed control in challenging and gusty conditions. It stands out with its comfort when overpowered, so you’re able to keep accelerating where most wings require backing off,” said Mike Raper, Chief Brand Officer at North. “This wing delivers high-output performance that advanced freeriders crave, while remaining incredibly stable, intuitive, and dependable at speed.”

Key Features:

  • N-Weave45 High-Tensile Airframe. A stiffer, lighter composite construction for maximum speed and reduced drag.
  • UDI Carbon-Reinforced Leading Edge. Delivers instantaneous response and a direct, connected feel.
  • Matrix Canopy + Load Diffuser – Strengthens the wing and improves shape-hold under high load.
  • ShiftLock Modularity – Compatible with Carbon ShiftLock Handles, J-Handles or Booms (sold separately) via a full-strut length ergonomically contoured track.
  • Optimised Airframe & Wingtip Geometry – Advanced aerodynamics improve stability and extend top-end control.
  • Massive Top-End Wind Range – Fly faster, hold more power, and cruise confidently through the gusts.

For 2026, refinements in strut shaping, wingtip seam technology, and an upgraded XL-T Joint increase stiffness and precision, resulting in an even faster, more dialled-in ride. High-speed performance also depends on pairings with efficient, fast foils. We recommend pairing the Mode Pro with the smaller Freeride MA Series or High-Speed HA Series Front Wings, together with Speed/8 Series Stabilizers, and the Ultra High Modulus Carbon Mast. “More than just power, the Mode Pro delivers usable power. I’m loving the 3.5m for boosting big air in powered-up conditions and to get that mad speed feeling” – Fabi Muhmentahler, Pro Wingfoiler.

“Powerful and stable in gusty conditions, compact for freefly, and a great wing to push speed with your foils. If you're looking for a responsive, high-performance wing with a boom, you’ll love the new Mode Pro.” – Noé Cantaloube, Pro Wingfoiler.

The Mode Pro is available globally via North retailers and the North online store from August 2025.

Sizes: 3.5, 4.2, 4.8, 5.5, 6.5m. Larger sizes focused on high speed in lighter wind; smaller sizes on control in stronger wind.
