North launches new 2025 Loft Pro

So… North has just tapped into the light wind market! Introducing the new 2025 Loft Pro.

The new Loft Pro has the power to unlock borderline sessions, lift you up instantly in the lightest wind, and keep you riding through the lulls. For 2025, it has undergone a complete redesign. Among the design changes, North has introduced its proven ShiftLock modular track system, contoured strut, radial panel cuts, a thinner LE diameter, and Carbon UDI stiffening inside the leading edge.

The new performance light wind wing now comes in three sizes – including a 6m for smaller riders – but you’ll only need one Loft Pro in your quiver. It’s designed to be your biggest wing size, complementing your standard freeride wings. Mike Raper, North Brand Director, says: “This wing really works in those marginal conditions (6-16knots) where it's hardly white capping. We’ve really targeted the rider who wants to get going in those super light wind conditions, with a wing for every rider size.

The Loft Pro is lighter than the 7m Nova and specifically designed for light wind. When you pick up the Loft Pro on the beach, you can feel the weight reduction, but most importantly, you can feel it on the water, especially in the transitions.”

Dano See, North Wing Designer, says the Loft Pro’s design focus was to get you up and running without needing to pump hard.

“The wing's framing is very stiff and reactive, and when you sheet in, the wing delivers a direct power drive, propelling you forward. “We’ve refined the entry profile for more positive nose lift, which helps take the load off your arms, and we’ve concentrated the weight in the centre of the wing, keeping the tips and canopy light for a low swing weight.

“We've also placed anti-deflection, UD carbon tapes inside the entire leading edge, for an even more reactive airframe that snaps back into shape faster. The Carbon UDi eliminates the need for adding extra struts to the canopy, which would only result in tip weight and extra drag.
