Wingfoiling and foiling in Fiji — crystal-clear waters, powerful reef waves, and three weeks chasing swell, wind and perfect lines.
A last-minute trip turned into one of the most unreal foil adventures of my life. Remote islands, empty lineups, tow foiling, wingfoiling — and moments that made me ask: Is This Even Real? This is Episode One from Fiji, a place that truly feels like a playground at the end of the world. From the very first boat ride through turquoise water, everything revolved around the ocean.
Our days were built around tides, forecasts, and water time — wingfoiling until exhaustion, towing into glassy reef waves, and following lines that felt endless. Tow foiling completely changed the trip. Flying over long reef waves without a wing, just board and foil, unlocked a new level of speed, flow, and freedom. The water was so clear it felt like riding above an aquarium — coral, fish, and reef visible meters below while gliding silently above it all.
Staying near Namotu and Malolo gave us the freedom to explore beyond the crowded spots. Reading the reef and following the lines, we found empty breaks and rode them day after day — no crowds, no noise, just clean waves rolling in. Even Cloudbreak, a wave I always thought of as “untouchable,” became reality, and riding it on foil is something I’ll never forget.
Fiji isn’t always easy. The ocean is powerful and demands respect — but that’s exactly what makes it special. Fear fades quickly when you’re flying over water in a place like this. What stays is adrenaline, connection, and the feeling of having experienced something truly rare. This trip was a solid 10/10 — and we’re already planning to come back during peak wind season.

We mainly rode the Duotone Crest foil with the 675 front wing — fast, smooth, and incredibly balanced across wingfoiling, tow foiling, and long glides. Paired with Sky Style boards, Unit and Float wings, the setup delivered confidence, control, and versatility in Fiji’s ever-changing conditions.
Some of the footage in this video was filmed using the Insta360 X5 with a selfie stick, combined with the SAIL Video System for the best possible self-shot angles while foiling. This setup made it easy to capture smooth, immersive shots on the water — even while riding alone.
